The Pitkin Glass Works has a history that goes back to the revolutionary war. Who was Captain Richard Pitkin? He and his sons made gunpowder for the soldiers in the Continental Army. After the war was won the state gave Mr. Pitkin the exclusive right to manufacture glass. He established his glass factory in Manchester, Connecticut.
